LibraryThing

My mother has a heavy black three ring binder divided by alphabetical tabs. In it is every book she's read since college. LibraryThing is here to save our generation from the tyranny of the binder. This site allows you to easily catalogue your books, find book recommendations and anti-recommendations, compare your books with other users (including Daily Book Buddy recommended authors) and chat in various threads. Here Angstrat is the way cooler kid, she has been using LibraryThing for a while and encouraging me too as well. Maybe soon.

I love LibraryThing. I've been using it for at least 6 months now. I haven't managed to catalog ALL my books yet, especially the graphic novels/manga, but there's still a lot going up. I love the tagging feature. If you get a library, look me up! I am Crowinator (of course).

Yep, huge fan of LibraryThing. I had the whole Access database myself but LibraryThing is much simpler and accessible everywhere. And I get MARC records! (library geek!) I actually have 3 accounts angstrat (for books I own) angstratread (books read) and angstrattbr (ones I want). I'm not always good about keeping up to date, though. shuttsie, let me know if/when you get around to joining up.

ok, you win. I've started Libray-thinging and so far Angstrat is the user who I have the most books in common with. Krista, your tag cloud is an inspiration.
